Paris to get new Kengo Kuma development

Compagnie de Phalsbourg, Station F, Kengo Kuma & Associates and Marchi Architectes have teamed up for Aurore T5B in the 13th arrondissement’s Paris Rive Gauche neighborhood, a SEMAPA urban regeneration zone. The Aurore project will house two innovative and complementary forms of accommodation: 1 Hotels, offering the best in eco-design and sustainable architecture combined with award-winning 5-star service, and Slo Living Hostel, a new youth hostel concept.

In the immediate vicinity of the François-Mitterrand Library and overlooking Station F, the world’s largest startup incubator, the building made from wood, bronze and vegetation designed by Kengo Kuma and Nicola and Adelaide Marchi will host the first overseas venture from eco-friendly luxury hotel group 1 Hotels. The 140-room hotel will offer a gym and a panoramic restaurant situated on one of the complex’s many terraces. Meanwhile the Slo Living Hostel will have capacity for 179 beds.

Aurore will also feature a new cabaret concept developed by La Bellevilloise called Chez Fellini while the Nuage Café coworking space will serve as a hub for startups and freelancers.

With an eco-friendly concept that is open to the neighborhood and the outside world, the Aurore project will link Avenue de France to the creative buzz of Station F while also helping make Paris’s 13th arrondissement an even more attractive tourist destination.
